Softbank-backed e-commerce platform Meesho will launch its annual festival event, the Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale, starting on September 27, with the highest number of sellers among its competitors, the company announced on Tuesday. Meesho has seen a 42% year-on-year increase in sellers, reaching 2 million for the upcoming festive season.
“Meesho’s Annual ‘Meesho Mega Blockbuster Sale’ Starts on 27th September. With over 2 mn sellers and 120 mn product listings across 30 categories, Meesho aims to make festive shopping more accessible, affordable, and convenient for shoppers across the country,” the company said in a statement.
Amazon India has seen a 14 per cent growth in seller base but remains lower than that of Meesho for their upcoming annual festival sale “The Great Indian Festival”.
While announcing annual festival sale dates “The Big Billion Days” on Monday, Walmart group firm Flipkart had said it has over 50 crore users and more than 1.4 mn sellers on the platform, including sellers of its other platform Shopsy as well.
Meesho has teamed up with D2C brands such as Mamaearth, Denver, and Bata to broaden its product range on Meesho Mall. This initiative is designed to strengthen brand visibility in tier 2 and beyond markets. Meesho Mall has experienced considerable growth, with nearly 75% of orders originating from these regions and a tenfold increase in brand partnerships.
